The simplicity of design does not overshadow the hand turned element like so many modern pens do
Atom™ is ideally a turn-between-centres kit - a mandrel is NOT required - this provides better turning accuracy and there are no mandrel parts obstructing the tool rest
Bushings that fit a mandrel are now available if required
These kits are NOT compatible with PNC pencil converter kits

I really love this kit
All the parts feel like great quality
I love how simple it is whilst having a nice long barrel to show case the blank of choice

As with everything else from ProKraft the Atom is easy to put together if you follow the excellent video and printed instructions and feels very solid. I've made this and the Ion (which I prefer but the mechanism confuses some people!) and they are both dead easy. I've even shown a few others how to make them so our Shed has ordered a big batch as they have become the new "playground fad".
Honestly, if you've never turned a pen before (I hadn't before a few weeks ago) and only have a big lathe and tools, you will still produce a fabulous looking pen in very short order.

The rise in quality of these kits far exceeds the rise in price. I loved doing these kits and find that because they feel and look so good, I take more care and time over the finished result. Love em

I turned a herring bone pen to use with this kit and the results are ,great

I've made pens with many kits from other suppliers but keep coming back to the Atom2 kit purely for the simplicity and reliability of the kits. I've spent a fortune on bits for my lathe I don't have to use for this kit. will be back again soon once I use up my existing kits
